Abstract
A model has been built that permits calculation of both gross and net interception loss from mixed grass prairie. This model has been applied to two complete growing seasons for which the net interception losses were calculated to be 14 and 22%. Under arid conditions losses may be significant, particularly when much dead vegetation is present.
