Abstract
Among totally confined ewes, the pattern of estrus occurrence after exposure to rams was similar to that produced by prostaglandin F2α-treatment, but differed from that occurring in ewes on pasture at the onset of the breeding season. The degree of synchronization of lambing was the same whether estrus was synchronized by rams or by prostaglandin, but no synchronization occurred among the ewes on pasture.
