Abstract
Water and basin management, which is an important aspect of the environmental economy, is significant in terms of energy production, development, and ecosystem integrity as well as drinking and usage purposes. Besides global warming and famine effects, the protection of water resources, industrial water supply, water quality improvement, and basin management issues have been emphasized in Türkiye within the “Water Framework Directive” scope. In this study, the examples of basin management in the world were investigated and compared their approaches with the current understanding of basin management in Türkiye.
