Comparison of heparins are similar, both in vitro and in vivo, the large anticoagulant activity of three preparations of difference in the anti-Xa/APTT ratio between the two sources of heparins originates predominantly in their anti-Xa potencies. This finding may be of some relevance to the current clinical practice of heparin administration in low dosage for its antithrombotic action.
