1. Deaths from metastases. During 1960-88, 31 patients (38-3%) died, 15 of them (18-5%) from proved metastases (10 female, 5 male patients, Fig 2). In 10 cases metastases were diagnosed clinically; in five cases necropsy was performed. One patient died from hepatic carcinoma as a second malignant tumour. In 10 cases it was noted that the regional lymphnodes were involved before the patients died from general haematogenous metastases
