Proverbs and Wisdom Traditions in Archaic Greek Culture

Abstract

This contribution aims to: 1. present a quick overview of proverbs and their use in archaic Greek culture; 2. define and review the main Greek wisdom traditions; 3. show, through the analysis of some examples, how proverbs are among the main forms of expression of the sapiential traditions.
