1. Dr Laurence Douny is an honorary research fellow at UCL anthropology, where she carried out a three-year Early Career postdoctoral research fellowship (2009-12) sponsored by The Leverholme Trust. Since 2008, she has been researching wild silk in West Africa, in particular in the Dogon and Marka-Dafing communities of Mali and Burkina Faso, as well as in the Hausa region in northern Nigeria.
