1. SIMONE ABRAM IS READER AT THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR RESEARCH IN EVENTS, TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY AT LEEDS METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY. HER RESEARCH INTERESTS FOCUS ON THE ANTHROPOLOGY OF PLANNING, TOURISM, AND THE SOCIOLOGY OF SCIENCE. SHE HAS DONE EXTENSIVE ETHNOGRAPHIC FIELDWORK IN FRANCE, ENGLAND, AND NORWAY, AND HAS BEEN A VISITING FELLOW AT THE UNIVERSITIES OF OSLO, GOTHENBURG, AND TROMSØ, AND AT THE MAISON DES SCIENCES DE L'HOMME (PARIS).
