1. KATHY BURRELL IS A SENIOR LECTURER IN SOCIAL AND CULTURAL GEOGRAPHY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL. HER RESEARCH INTERESTS ARE IN POSTWAR AND CONTEMPORARY MIGRATION TO BRITAIN, CONCENTRATING PREDOMINANTLY ON MATERIAL CULTURE, CONSUMPTION, MOBILITY AND MIGRANT JOURNEYS AND TRANSNATIONALISM. SHE IS ALSO INTERESTED IN PLACE AND BELONGING, ESPECIALLY IN AREAS WITH HIGHLY TRANSIENT POPULATIONS.
