Abstract
Reading-while-listening has been proved to be helpful in second language reading comprehension under certain circumstances, while limited research has addressed whether the emotional auditory input effect reading comprehension, so the aim of this study was to identify this effect. In this study, second language learners were asked to read short passages while their eye movements were monitored. We found no significant effect on reading comprehension between two modes and we also found that reading-while-listening mode slower the reading speed. Moreover, there was a redundancy effect among participants.
