Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore in depth the biological treatment technologies for industrial wastewater and to analyze their application and development with the aim of improving the efficiency of industrial wastewater treatment, reducing costs, and minimizing the adverse effects on the environment. Specifically, it includes: systematically summarizing and comparing the current common biological treatment technologies for industrial wastewater, analyzing their advantages and disadvantages, scope of application, and effectiveness, in order to improve the understanding and control of the biological treatment process. Biofilm treatment technologies include fluidized bed biofilm reactor (FBBR), membrane biofilm reactor (MBfR), moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR), and rotating biological contactor (RBC). Further research and innovation are needed to improve treatment efficiency, reduce energy consumption and anaerobic treatment, control membrane pollution and degrade difficult-to-biodegrade substances.
