Abstract
From the perspective of part-time translators and interpreters, this paper explores the acceptability of language service industry in mainland China. The survey was conducted in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The analysis of the survey results shows that for part-time translators and interpreters, in addition to their translation skills, their awareness of rights protection, responsibility and service are equally important. They should evaluate their abilities correctly and be responsible for the quality of each translation service. Moreover, the language service industry is in urgent need of a corresponding legal system to regulate the order of the industry.
