Abstract

In Political Ecology, the Hydrosocial Cycle analyzes the circulation of water focusing onsocial actors in positions of power. However, in Ecological Economy (EE) and Ecological Anthropology (EA) paradigms, this perspective has not been discussed or translated into a biogeochemical-sociocultural isomorphism. Based on a bibliographic review of Social Metabolism, the present work develops a proposal that we refer to as Hydrosocial Metabolism. With the aim of developing a transdisciplinary methodological approach to our paradigm, we illustrate the components of Hydrosocial Metabolism vis-a -vis a territorial analysis of both watershed basins and urbanization processes
