Abstract
Abstract
Background
Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most frequent malignant liver tumor in infants and young children. While it is rare, the brain seems to be the most habitual site of non-pulmonary metastasis.
Case presentation
In this report, we present the case of a 13-month-old girl followed for metastatic hepatoblastoma in the lung. She was brought to the emergency department with tonic–clonic seizure, and a brain CT scan revealed a single intra-parenchymal metastasis.
Conclusions
In children with a history of hepatoblastoma, the development of neurologic symptoms should prompt cerebral imaging, to exclude the presence of cerebral metastases.
