Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial efficiency and productivity analysis of 15 airlines belonging to the Star Alliance, which is considered the largest international strategic airline cooperation, for the period 2016-2019 using the MTFP method. In addition, this study aims to assess the recent financial efficiency and productivity of member airlines before the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the TPEC and TFP values of the mentioned airlines increased in the 2016-2017 period, while the TEC values decreased. In the 2017-2018 period, the opposite situation was observed. It has been determined that there were decreases in TEC, TPEC and TFP values of all airlines in the 2018-2019 period. It was observed that the average TEC, TPEC and TFP values of the airlines decreased throughout the period. It has been determined that Air Canada and Turkish Airlines increased their efficiency and productivity values throughout the entire period, while Air New Zealand's TFP values and Asiana Airlines' TPEC values decreased.
