Abstract

Banks, like other commercial institutions, are faced with various risks. Just like some other commercial institutions, banks are faced with various risks. One of these risks is liquidity risk. The inability of banks to fund assets and unable to meet its obligations reveal liquidity risk. There are lots of studies in the literature measuring the liquidity risk of traditional banks. However, studies based on participation banks and examining the factors affecting liquidity risk are quite limited. In this study, using the quarterly data of five participation banks covering the years 2016 and 2019, the variables that affect the liquidity risk were determined using the panel data method. As a result of the analysis, a significant and positive relationship was determined between the liquidity risk and the capital adequacy ratio. This result revealed that as the liquid assets of participation banks increase, the liquidity risk will decrease.
