Abstract

The main purpose of the study is to examine whether women's happiness is predicted in terms of their self-compassion levels and their perceptions of positive childhood experiences. 449 women aged between 18-64 participated in the study. The data of the study were collected with the "Personal Information Form", "Oxford Happiness Scale", "Short Self-Compassion Scale" and "Positive Childhood Experiences Scale". The analyzes of the research were made through the SPPS 22 program. In analysis; t test, Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Linear Regression analysis were used. According to the findings; While the happiness of women did not differ significantly according to the place of residence and working status, the happiness levels of women who were parents were found to be higher. A positive and significant relationship was found between the happiness levels of women and the levels of self-compassion and positive childhood experiences. It has been determined that self-compassion and positive childhood experiences together are important predictors of women's happiness.
