Abstract

This study determined the following: 1) providing a comprehensive landscape of consensus molecular subtype (CMS)-specific tumor microenvironments (TMEs); 2) constructing CMS-specific networks, including host genes, intratumoral microbiota, and enriched pathways, analyzing their associations to uncover unique patterns that demonstrate the intricate interplay within the TME; and 3) revealing a connection between immune-rich subtypes and ferroptosis activation, suggesting a potential regulatory role of the microbiota in ferroptosis dysregulation of the colorectal cancer TME.
