Abstract
Two weeks of daily acute intermittent hypoxia (dAIH) preconditioning enhanced stimulus-evoked phrenic responses to lateral funiculus stimulation (targeting respiratory bulbospinal projection to phrenic motor neurons). Furthermore, dAIH preconditioning enhanced baseline phrenic motor output responses to maximal chemoreflex activation in intact rats.
