Abstract

Ischemic acute kidney injury (AKI) donors can effectively shorten the waiting time for kidney transplantation but increase immune rejection, especially T cell-mediated rejection (TCMR), the mechanism of which remains to be elucidated. Our study demonstrates that during ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI), the translocation of tubular murine double minute 2 leads to basolateral programmed death ligand 1 degradation, which ultimately results in the occurrence of TCMR, which may provide a new therapeutic strategy for preventing AKI donor-associated TCMR.
