Abstract

Abstract Many psychoanalysts underline the transition in contemporary Psychoanalysis from conceptualization in terms of structures to greater emphasis on process and movement. This paper proposes an option of describing and interpreting the chronicle of psychoanalytic treatment through the prism of the processes of transformation. A case study is presented that illustrates the transformation of an analysand from motionless impasse towards a different state, one of constant transformative movement. The author argues that such transformation can occur when the analyst undergoes an internal transformative oriented transformation first.
