Film and television media plays a key role in people’s social life and economic exchanges, not only can enrich people’s entertainment life, but also play a good publicity effect in economic production. Based on this, it is of far-reaching significance to explore the application methods of new media technology in film and television media in the era of big data cloud. The new media technology has broken through the original channels and timeliness of film and television media communication, expanded the horizon for the technological innovation of film and television media, and is conducive to promoting the high-quality development of the film and television media industry. This paper mainly takes the big data cloud era as the analysis background, establishes the big data DRN algorithm to establish the new media application model, explores the application method of new media technology in the film and television media, and aims to promote the continuous and healthy development of the new film and television media in a healthy direction. According to the calculation of the new media application model, the proportion of new media is as high as 86%, and the traditional media only accounts for 14%. And in the proportion of traditional media, the elderly accounted for 57%, and the young accounted for 33%. In the proportion of new media, the elderly accounted for only 14%, and the young accounted for 86%.
