Abstract
Abstract
Self-Transactional materials are materials equipped with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags and communication capabilities that allow them to automatically report their location, use, and condition to a central system. The paper used a combination of literature review and a case study. The integration of RFID technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) into Supply Chain Management (SCM) has gained ground in recent years as a way to improve efficiency, traceability and visibility. The study aims to investigate the impact of "Self-Transactional" materials that are equipped with RFID tags and integrated with a shared IoT database platform in SCM, which can improve inventory management, logistics, procurement processes and supplier-communication client. The study results indicate that Self-Transactional materials can significantly improve SCM by providing real-time visibility into the movement and status of materials, facilitating more efficient and effective coordination of logistics and inventory management. The study will provide valuable insights into the potential benefits and challenges of using Self-Transactional materials with RFID tags and of a shared IoT database platform in SCM and will be of interest to professionals in the field.
