Abstract
This study proposes Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) antennas for 5G networking. The antennas operate at 59.88 GHz, have a 2.6 GHz bandwidth, and use a cheap substrate. The construction uses a Rogers RT5880 substrate with 2.2 dielectric constant and 0.0013 tangent loss. Standard substrate thickness is 0.312 mm. The substrate (4.142 mm x 4.342 mm) and patch (2.47 mm x 2.27 mm) were used. SIW-line feed is used. Two- and four-element arrays are available. The initial suggestion sought 11 dB and 6.07 dB gains for millimeter wave 5G applications. The suggested bandwidths were 1.6 GHz and 2.5 GHz, or 74.48 and 52.58 GHz. The second idea sought 12.3 dB gain for millimeter wave 5G applications. Recommended bandwidth was 1.6 GHz, and operating frequency was 64.04 GHz. The antenna's maximum height is 4.142 mm, 0.382 mm wide, and 4.342 mm deep. Simulating the antenna design with CST Microwave Studio.
