Refinement of the crystal structure of barium Oxalate monohydrate

Abstract

Abstract The crystal structure of BaC2O4 · H2O has been refined using new samples prepared from BaO and oxamic acid. The compound crystallizes in space group C2/m, with a = 10.106(2), b = 7.982(2), c = 6.876(1) Å, β = 121.95(1)°, and Z = 4. Refinement of 1228 observed Mo data converged to R = 0.021 and Rw = 0.028 for 40 variables.
