Abstract
Abstract
Single crystals of H4[Mo(CN)8] · 2 O(C2H5)2 · CH3OH · 2 H2O have been obtained by adding diethylether to a solution of H4[Mo(CN)8] in methanol. The needle shaped crystals are triclinic with space group P[unk] and lattice constants a = 1073.2(1) pm, b = 1119.1(1) pm, c = 1199.1(1) pm, α = 84.41(1)°, β = 78.28(2)°, γ = 76.38(2)°. The molybdenum atom has a distorted square antiprismatic environment of eight cyanide ligands. The substance itself can be considered as a coordination polymer with a double N–H–N linkage incorporating hydrogen bonded oxonium ions as well as methanol and diethylether molecules.
