ImageNets — Framework for Fast Development of Robust and High Performance Image Processing Algorithms

Abstract

Zusammenfassung In this publication, we describe the novel ImageNets framework which enables developers with low programming knowledge to rapidly create efficient high performance image processing algorithms and which is available under an open source license. The performance of this novel tool has been compared with the simple to use Image Processing Toolbox of MATLAB/Simulink. A group of 49 students, attendees of a robot vision lecture, had to solve an image processing task using both tools. Different evaluation criteria have been measured or determined by interrogation of the students. The advantage of the new tool ImageNets has become clearly visible.
