Optical, electrooptical and piezoelectric constants ofd( + )-camphoric acid acetone

Abstract

AbstractConditions of crystal growth and some physical properties of the compoundd( + )-C10H16O4· 0.5 CO(CH3)2are reported. The piezoelectric constants at room temperature ared14= −2.67,d25= 19.2, andd36= 27.7 · 10−12Coul/N; their temperature derivatives are given by∂lnd14/∂T= 4.0,∂lnd25/∂T= −5.8, and∂lnd36/∂T= −5.6·10−3/°C. The linear electrooptical coefficients are of the magnitude of 10−13m/V.
