Abstract
The binary intermetallic phases formed by Ca, Sr, Ba, Eu and Yb with Li, Be and group 7 to 15 elements are a family of nearly 570 members, distributed over 50 compositions and 140 structure types. A graphical overview of all phases is given, and they are examined regarding their crystal chemistry, atomic sizes and volume effects in alloying.
