Crystal structures of seven new cadmium iodide polytypes 10H
3, 10H
4, 12H
7, 12H
8, 16H
7, 24H
2, 28H
4 have been worked out. The structures are represented as 22(11)3, 21111211, 22(11)4, 2112(11)3, 12322222, 221(22)43 and (22)2(11)422(11)4 respectively, in Zhdanov symbols. They all belong to the space group P3m 1.
