Abstract
Abstract
X-ray diffraction patterns of graphite-FeCl3 compounds show h,k lines which are diffuse in the direction of l, although there are sharp 00l reflections, i.e. no disturbance in the sequence of the layers (“pure stages”). These effects are explained by a theory for one-dimensionally disordered layer positions. Interactions between layers of the same kind and of different kinds are discussed as far as they influence the positions of layers with respect to each other.
