Abstract
Abstract
Three different hydrates of strontiumazide have been prepared by crystallization from saturated aqueous solution. Sr(N3)2·6H2O crystallizes at – 9°C, the unit cell is monoclinic, a = 6.24 Å, b = 6.09 Å, c = 6.24 Å, β = 115,12°, Z = 1. Sr(N3)2·4H2 Ohas been prepared at 8°C. Again the unit cell is monoclinic, a = 6.35 Å, b = 43.96 Å, c = 6.35 Å, β = 119,15°, Z = 8. The third hydrate Sr(N3)2·2H2O has been prepared at 19°C only as a fine crystalline powder. The lattice constants of the hexahydrate and of the tetrahydrate have been determined using single-crystal methods. The powder data of the three hydrates are listed.
