Rich Services — A SOA Pattern for Dynamic Change in Cyber-physical Systems

Abstract

Abstract Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are changing the way we interact with the physical world. From automotive to manufacturing to logistics to power-grid to virtual command and control, we now see widespread application of integrated, software-intensive systems of sensor/actuator networks connected to backbone cyber-infrastructures. In this document we develop Rich Services as an architectural pattern suitable for systematically designing and implementing CPS, with particular emphasis on dynamic change.
