Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of identifying the socio-psychological causes of female infertility of unclear etiology. It presents the results of an empirical study of the perception of women with intact reproductive health, but experiencing difficulties in conceiving and giving birth to a child, of their parental family. The author, based on the results of theoretical analysis, formulates a hypothesis that one of the dominant factors in a woman's psychological infertility is the image of her parental family, relations both in the "parent-parent" system and in the "parent-child" system. The hypothesis was tested in the course of a study performed using the family genogram method on a research sample of 312 women with infertility of unknown etiology. The general and specific features of women's perception of relationships in the parental family are revealed, which indicates the presence of typological features of their personality, which is due to children's subjective experience and feelings associated with the family situation of their development.
