OPTIMIZATION OF TRANSPORT FLOWS IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OF THE FOOD COMPANY

Abstract

Transportation is an important part of the logistics process and supply chain management, so it requires effective management, which is especially true when the organization seeks to meet the needs of its customers and achieve acceptable rates of return on its investments. Shippers should know the opportunities and bottlenecks of the company in terms of transportation at the entrance and exit, be able to choose the mode of transport and the carrier, conclude contracts with the right conditions, analyze the activities of transport brokers, understand the options for transportation by own forces, evaluate the performance of carriers, etc. The methods of optimization of operational planning problems that use linear programming models (LP), the analysis of the transport component in supply chain management, the characteristics of the basic methods of modeling transport problems and the problems of transport routing are considered in the article. The most promising direction in solving the problem of optimizing transport flows is the development of technologies that would combine the advantages of geoinformation systems, mathematical programming and heuristics.
