Abstract

The modern history of marine studies in Ukraine since independence obtaining till now is considered. Three stages are allocated for the national oceanography activity and institutional structure changes concerning physical and ecological studies of marine environment. State and problems of the system of marine hydrometeorological observations and marine coastal zone monitoring are described. Ways of accumulated problems solution are drawn and possible directions of oceanography and marine hydrometeorology development are proposed.
