The Influence of the Simple Tool Practicum-Based POE Learning Model on Students' Cognitive Learning Outcomes in Junior High Schools

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes and to determine the effect of the POE learning model based on simple tools practicum on student learning outcomes. This research is a pre- experimental quantitative research with one group pretest-posstest research design which is tested in one experimental class and two replication classes at SMP Negeri 2 Gedangan. The assessment instrument is in the form of multiple choice questions on learning outcomes. The sampling technique in this study is non-probability sampling with random sampling. Data analysis used N-Gain test and paired sample t-test. The average results of the N-Gain scores of the three classes are in the moderate category, while the paired sample t-test shows that the significance value in each class is 0.000, which is a significant value <0.5. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes after being given a simple tool practicum based POE learning model and there is an effect of applying a simple tool based POE learning model to student learning outcomes.
