DETERMINATION OF THE TEMPERATURE OF THE HEAT CARRIER IN METAL AND PLASTIC PIPES BY THE TEMPERATURE OF THEIR OUTER SURFACE

Abstract

To determine the coolant temperature by the pipe wall temperature, mutual dependences between the temperatures of the wall, coolant and air, flow velocity, and pipe dimensions are revealed. It is established that the flow velocity of the coolant in the pipeline affects the heat flux density only in the laminar flow regime characterized by low velocity. A linear dependence between the wall temperature, air temperature and coolant temperature has been found. A nomogram allowing to determine the coolant temperature in polypropylene pipes by their wall temperature has been constructed. It is shown that the surface temperature of steel pipes can be considered equal to the temperature of the coolant.
