Abstract
SummaryThe behaviour of the so-called “onion-like shape thromboelastogram” in dialyzed uraemic patients has been studied. 51 double thromboelastogram (TEG) determinations (one before and one after dialysis) were performed in 39 uraemic patients. The “onion-Mke shape TEG” was present in 42 recordings performed before dialysis and only in 19 recordings after a single dialysis. The disappearance of the “onion-like shape TEG” can be interpreted as a normalising effect of the dialysis on the clot elasticity in a large percentage of uraemic patients.
