Abstract

Key Points STIM1-mediated calcium entry is critical for neutrophil superoxide release via activation of calcium-sensitive PKCα and PKCβ. STIM1 deficiency results in profound susceptibility to bacterial infection, but also protection in hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury.
