Abstract

Key Points Inactive prochemerin is activated in plasma by coagulation enzymes to active chemerin forms that are adipokines and chemoattractants. FXIa cleaves prochemerin, forming a partially active intermediate that is then fully activated by plasma basic carboxypeptidases.
