A remarkable and unprecedented concentration effect on chemoselectivity is observed for the thermal decomposition of Pd(ii) aryl trifluoromethyl complexes. As the concentration increases, the Ar–CF3 cross-coupling is suppressed gradually whilst the Ar–Ar homocoupling increases steadily.
