Abstract
The reaction of enals with α,α′-diaryl-substituted acetones (pKa > 18) catalyzed by (S)-1-(2-pyrrolidinylmethyl) pyrrolidine provides direct access to enantioenriched 2,5,6-trisubstituted-3-hydroxy cyclohexanones.
