Abstract

l-Carnitine induced preferential oxidation of linoleic acid (C18:2n-6) in liver, skeletal muscle and retroperitoneal fat, increased stored oleic acid (C18:1n-9) in liver and skeletal muscle whiletrans-vaccenic acid (C18:1trans-11) was increased in retroperitoneal fat.
