Abstract
An innovative sol–gel process, using a mixture of Na(hfa)·tetraglyme and RE(hfa)3·diglyme (RE = Y, Yb, Tm) complexes, has been optimized to produce upconverting β-NaYF4:Yb3+/Tm3+ thin films.
