Abstract

Atomically precise polyhydrido 28-Cu nanoclusters were reported. Their metal framework is arranged as a sandwich structure with a Cu18 unit regarded as an incomplete and distorted version of 3 × 2 × 2 “cutout” of the bcc bulk phase.
