Abstract

Lanthanocene Cp*₂La(AlMe₄) affords selective metalation of tetrahydrofuran to the 2-tetrahydrofuranyl derivative Cp*₂La(2-AlMe₃-OC₄H₇), while the yttrium reaction leads to THF degradation.
