In situ spectroscopic studies of decomposition of ZrSiO4during alkali fusion process using various hydroxides

Abstract
Spectra analysis shows that zircon decomposes into ZrO2and silane, and then silane polymerizes to form phyllosilicate in an alkali fusion reaction. The structure of alkali fusion products is relative to the electrons-afford ability of alkali in the reaction.
