Abstract

An electron-deficient triarylphosphine-coordinated Pt-catalyzed diboration of terminal alkynes with (pin)B–B(aam) provides vic-diborylalkenes, whose difference in the boron-Lewis acidities allows chemoselective cross-coupling to proceed sequentially.
