Abstract

A new I-based (I(org)) dication affords DJ layered perovskites exhibiting very short I(ap)⋯I(ap) interlayer distances (<3.90 Å) and strong dispersion bands in the direction perpendicular to layers revealing a quasi 3D electronic structure.
